Proper Timing of Watering
Mid-Day watering results in substantial
water loss due to evaporation
Late Evening watering causes growth of fungi in lawns
sitting wet overnight.
Ideal watering time is early morning, as late as possible,
still concluding before the onset of household water usage.
Proper Scheduling
Short frequent run times allow for very green grass,
but causes shallow roots and a less hearty lawn.
Lawn and garden areas require different amounts of
water at different times. Independent zones and programs should
be established for lawn and garden areas.
Best schedule for most system is a 2 3 day rotation,
dividing the zones among them equally to decrease the time
the system must run.
